The digitization of the Sicilian Region is now at the heart of a growth path aimed at enhancing the administration’s needs and offering more modern, transparent, and efficient services. For this reason, in recent months Italy & Partners, together with a Temporary Consortium of Companies led by Almaviva, has launched a strategic initiative in support of the Department of Programming of the Sicilian Region.
An ambitious project that stems from listening to the needs of the Administration and translates into concrete actions, strengthening administrative capacity through secure, scalable, and future-oriented technological solutions.
From the needs assessment to digital transformation
The starting point was the Digital Needs Plan of the Sicilian Region, which highlighted the importance of innovating the tools and platforms used for the management of cohesion and international cooperation programs.
The goal is twofold: to improve internal processes, making the work of operators more effective, and at the same time to provide citizens and businesses with accessible, intuitive, and reliable digital services. In other words, a decisive step toward bringing Public Administration closer to the concrete needs of the territory.
The role of the Executive Contract
The digitization path was guided by the elements outlined in the Executive Contract, which turns the identified needs into tangible actions. Among the main activities are:
- The evolutionary maintenance of the Caronte information system, the core of program management.
- The cloud migration of strategic applications, ensuring greater security and flexibility.
- The development of new interfaces and digital services, designed both for internal operators and for citizens.
In practice, the chosen approach has placed technological innovation at the center, while also safeguarding sustainability and service continuity.
Public-private collaboration as a driver of innovation
Within this complex framework, Italy & Partners contributed its expertise to foster a synergy with the qualified partners involved in the project, including ZeroDD.
ZeroDD will support the project as a subcontractor, bringing added value in crucial areas such as system customization and data management. This collaboration demonstrates how the integration of public and private know-how can generate innovative and concrete solutions.
Toward a more modern and efficient Region
The digitization of the Sicilian Region marks a fundamental step toward the modernization of regional public services.
The benefits of digitizing regional systems are manifold, including:
- Greater transparency in processes.
- A more efficient and accessible service offering.
- Stronger collaboration between citizens, businesses, and institutions.
The case of the Sicilian Region is therefore a virtuous example of how digital transformation, when guided by a strategic vision and teamwork, can produce concrete and lasting results for the territory, creating a model of digital innovation that can also inspire other administrations.
